Players, Families and Friends,
With the recent events that have taken place with Polar Ice, it is with a heavy heart that the Lone Star Wolves (LSW) will not be able to field teams for the upcoming 2014/2015 season. With all the uncertainties hanging out there with the rinks Charter with which the Lone Star Wolves play under, we just cannot guarantee that the Rinks Charter will be in “good standing” for the upcoming 2014/2015 season. While TAHA has not officially pulled the rinks charter as of today (6-3-2014), LSW, in good conscience cannot take the chance of signing players only to have the charter pulled. We wanted to give our families as much notice as possible to find another association to play with. For those that have paid for our spring camp, we will of course fulfill our commitment to our players for the remainder of camp.
We are deeply saddened by all of this and have always put the players first working very hard on player development and running the best program possible. Many of you have stood by us for many years through thick and thin and that is very much appreciated. Scott Hullum and I will regroup over the next few months starting with our immediate request to TAHA for our OWN charter. Getting your own charter is not an easy task, but given LSW unfortunate circumstances we hope TAHA will award us a charter based on our good standing within the DFW Hockey community since 2001.
We wish all of you the best of luck with the upcoming season and we will be in touch updating you throughout upcoming year on the future direction of Lone Star Wolves Hockey.
Thank you for your continued support!
Lone Star Wolves President
